Our Commitment
At Quinta Marugo, we believe in ethical tourism that uplifts and protects communities. We strictly oppose all forms of exploitation, including child labor, sexual exploitation, forced labor, and human trafficking. As a small hotel, we recognize our responsibility to protect those most vulnerable in our community: children, adolescents, women, and minorities.
Zero Tolerance for Exploitation
We maintain a firm stance against:
- Sexual exploitation, particularly of children and adolescents
- Products or services derived from child labor
- Forced labor practices targeting vulnerable populations
- Any business activities that harm our local community
Expectations for Team Members
- Treat all guests, colleagues, partners, and community members with dignity and respect
- Never engage in, facilitate, or tolerate exploitative behavior in any form
- Report any suspicious or inappropriate conduct immediately to management
- Be vigilant about potential signs of exploitation, especially involving minors
- Uphold labor rights, ensure fair treatment, and avoid discrimination
Expectations for Guests and Partners
- We ask our guests and partners to respect local communities, children's rights, and fair labor practices
- Any behavior that violates human dignity or contributes to exploitation will result in immediate action, including possible termination of partnerships or refusal of service
- Use of our facilities for inappropriate activities, particularly those involving minors, will be reported to authorities
Reporting Concerns
All concerns or incidents must be reported confidentially to the General Manager or directly via email: ugo@quintamarugo.com. No retaliation will be tolerated for reporting concerns. We are committed to working with local authorities to combat exploitation.
Continuous Learning
All team members receive regular training on identifying, preventing, and reporting exploitation, and are empowered to act with integrity and responsibility. We stay informed about industry initiatives that protect vulnerable populations and actively participate in creating a safer tourism environment.
